,

Welcome to ๐Ÿš€ Progress. My weekly update where I share my stories and behind-the-scene insights into my journey playing the Internet game and seeking to provide value for this world as an entrepreneur/creator. Every week I will transparently show my growth from the beginning on.

Who is this for?

For people who want to play the internet game and learn from my story.
Because I’m going to win this game.
You think I’m a dreamer? That I shouldn’t even try and give up?
Remember: Quitters never win. Winners never quit. Play the long game.

๐Ÿฆ‹ Research on brand creation

“People do not buy goods & services. They buy relations, stories & magicโ€

This week I’ve been researching branding and have started to create a few things. Here are my latest results, which are my first attempt, but not even close to being finished yet.

The heart of the brand

Purpose: Inspiring and empowering people to do great work and live ambitious lives.
Vision: Imagine a world where ambitious people develop, create and help others to advance humanity.
Mission: To create resources, products and motivation that helps people on their journey.

Target group
  • Young men at age 18 to 30
  • before, after or during their studies or apprenticeship
  • Job patterns: Tech & Creative
  • Interested in technology, innovation and the internet
  • search for ways to make money and have an impact
  • understand the importance of physical well-being
  • want to make a positive impact on society
  • value continuous learning
  • actively seeking opportunities to develop skills and knowledge
  • driven by ambition and seek resources
  • Want to start a business but donโ€™t know where to start
  • Enjoy working on their own.
The brand’s voice
  • Inspiring
  • Empowering
  • Confident, not arrogant
  • Empathetic, not overprotective
  • Transparent, not blunt
  • Wise

Music: Classic. A little bit epic. Piano. Calm.

Messaging

Here I researched my social media for things that resonated with me and can work for the brand:

  • “The fear is never reaching your potential. That always falling short. Always quitting before you’re done. Always procrastinating. Always not doing the right thing and then. One day you’re an old man and look back: God, I could have been great.” – Joe Rogan
  • Move in silence. Tell nobody what you’re doing. Just because no moves are shown, it doesn’t mean that no moves are made.
  • โ€œEverything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.โ€ – Steve Jobs
  • Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud.
  • You are not going to be happier when you achieve some outcome. Your life will be better if you strive towards something valuable, rather than having already accomplished it.
  • Lifeโ€™s work: A lifelong quest to build something for others that expresses who you are. – Patrick OShaughnessy

I also created a word cloud that shows the words that should be associated with the brand:

Changes on the logo:
Claim ideas:

Ambition, Empowerment, Difference
Where Ambition Finds Its Fuel
Unleash Your Potential, Define Your Future
Inspire. Empower. Achieve.
Your Ambition, Our Mission
Empowering Dreams
Inspiring Today, Shaping Tomorrow
Igniting Ambition, Realizing Potential

Inspiring Today, Shaping Tomorrow seems the one that I’m going for.

Branding Guidelines

I also started working on the branding guidelines: Colors, fonts, design elements and iconography.

I also thought about buying the domain love-the-process.io but this is something for later.

ToDo’s:
  • Moodboard
  • Stories
  • Advertising
  • Answering more questions about the target group (How the brand makes me feel?,
How the brand makes me look? Brand essence flywheel)

โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ The meaning behind love the process

“When you fall in love with the process rather than the end product, you don’t have to wait to give yourself permission to be happy” – James Clear (Atomic Habits)

Once I reach my goal, then Iโ€™ll be happy. You may say this to yourself very often. As we all know, the happiness of having reached a goal doesnโ€™t last long. The hedonistic treadmill is playing tricks on you. It’s the human tendency to quickly return to a stable level of happiness despite major positive or negative events or changes. To avoid this trap the goal itself is to fall in love with process.

Here are things you can do:
– Create a system that makes it easy to act and to enjoy the process
– Create a habit of continuous improvement
– Commit to make little progress everyday
– Challenge yourself slightly beyond your current skills
– Reward yourself for the effort, not just for the results.

Life is a journey and not a destination.

๐Ÿ”Ž Interesting Internet things:

Here’s a collection of interesting finds, tools and people that I have discovered this week in the depths of the internet and that I think are worth seeing:

๐Ÿ”Ž #1 Reddit
In my internet history I didn’t got interested in reddit so far. The time had come this week. A post on Twitter prompted me to sign up. And what can I say. It was definitely worth it. It’s a source for endless inspiration.

๐Ÿ”Ž #2 Classic, epic or opera music while working

This week I discovered listening to classic and opera music. Makes me feel doing something epic.

Opera Classics on Spotify
1993 Pavarotti Verdi La Traviata – Brindisi

๐Ÿ”Ž | #3 DaVinci Resolve – Video editing software for free
I searched for a video editing software. Da Vinci Resolve is the most recommended out there. So I’ll give it a try.

Da Vinci Resolve

If youโ€™re reading this, I canโ€™t thank you enough. I appreciate the time you’ve spent with reading my things. I hope you found valuable insights and perhaps a touch of inspiration to find your way.

With gratitude,

Jan
